What to Include
#

The more detail you provide, the more useful your report is for our threat tracking:

  • What happened — describe the scam, how contact was made, what was requested
  • Platforms involved — where did it happen? Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, dating app, email?
  • Scammer details — usernames, profile links, phone numbers, email addresses
  • Financial details — wallet addresses, transaction IDs, amounts involved
  • Timeline — when did the contact start and how long did it continue?
  • Screenshots — the single most valuable evidence. Don’t delete any communications before taking screenshots.

If You’re Currently Being Targeted
#

  1. Stop all communication — don’t confront, don’t threaten to report, just stop
  2. Don’t send more money — even if they promise it will “fix” the situation
  3. Document everything — screenshots, transaction records, usernames
  4. Report immediatelyFTC, FBI IC3, and your financial institution
  5. Visit our reporting resources — the homepage has a complete guide with direct reporting links
